5.40 pm -
I was just plainly sitting down watching this torrential rain, I cannot help worrying the cave-in slope on Wangsa 9. With so much fear instilled, I started to SMS some key residents and committee to dissipate the fear at the same time asking for a 'known' advice that is to call MPAJ or JKR. I am now like beyond that stage of having to do what one has to do for a simple reason we are just going in circles. Deep down in me, it came across to me that we probably need to put the tarpaulins ourselves. This may sound silly, but I was in hope that my fellow committee / key residents would suggest this. Fighting spirit is low, I don't know who should we turn to anymore. Who is out there to help us and I know of one friend Sheila Rahman, who has a heart of gold. Sheila is not a resident in Bukit Antarabangsa but she feels for all residents and keep extending her help. For immediate solution I cannot turn to sheila for tarpaulin sheets to cover the slope! I could not reach out for both Timbalan YDP and chief operating officer MPAJ to relate my concern. Within seconds I received SMS being sent to MPAJ in relation to MPAJ by Dato, Chee and Chek which then I did the same by sending SMS to TYDP MPAJ, YB ADUN and YB MP.
We are all dead worried over the torn and tattered tarpaulin that is barely covering the slope. There has been no supervision on this after it was done weeks ago. The weather forecasted for the next 5 days is not going to get any better so the potential of erosion is guaranteed. Don't have to wait, it had just happened last Saturday 31st Jan about 10 pm and uprooted 2 trees. So are we all still waiting? I could not believe such ignorance of our authorities and government. You mean they just don't see it or what? What takes them so long to do what is right and what they have to do. Could it be that they don't own a home or they don't live here hence they don't share our common sense of fear of losing our hard earned homes and precious lives.
We are residents who are already in dire straits for solutions instead we have more to worry about by having to go after respective authorities, to plead to our government to lend a hand. Sad to say but it is the truth we deal with so much inefficiencies and lack of communications inter departmental and offices. It is very much 'our' culture and I don't even want to elaborate further on. It is now time someone out there take matters into their hands to safeguard the interest of the public. Residents depend on local council for protection but what we see is our abandoned homes are really abandoned. The slope has been left to defend itself. It is exactly 2 months today as at this time of the morning, all residents are still battling to know what is to be done. The so called promised JKR report is silently creeping its way to hide itself!
The sense of urgency is only left to be felt among ourselves. Most of us spent sleepless nights hoping to wake up to a better tomorrow but we are just waking up to a same tomorrow. We are all just some decent residents, we try our level best to deal with situations with authorities the rightful, courteous and as amicable as possible to portray ourselves the 'educated' human beings. Ironically, we have been pushed to an edge where we have to demonstrate or resort to the press and media to be heard! Frankly, I was told that, not by one but many that demostration is the answer and the only way out.
