RTM & Malay Mail

9.30 am
Did a small coverage (RTM-Mandarin) for the coming CNY. Message; CNY will not be the same for all evacuees in our new places as we are still adjusting and our main worries are our 'abandoned' properties. Wish and hope for this CNY is to be able to go back to our homes for 2010 CNY.
1 pm
- Malay Mail at Wangsa 9:
  1. Highlighted theft attempt on house No. 31 on Saturday 17 January.
  2. Readdressed slope issues.
  3. Requested authorities to put back electricity, water (which temporary can easily be solved), upkeep the cleanliness of Wangsa 9 and most importantly police booth at emergency exit. All these have been repeatedly reminded and it has come to a stage we need the media.
  4. Maintenance of water tank at Wangsa 7 which holds approximately 130 000 sq3m precariously located at the slope edge of 80 deg.
  5. Timely Mrs How house no. 31 (showing the evidents) and Mr & Mrs Hon house No. 1 were present, so they were also been interviewed.
  6. JKR first month report which we expected to be notified is now overdue. We have to constantly create public awareness. We have tried our level best to deal amicably with respective authorities but responses are lame. We want positive responds with given time frame. We have waited , waiting and no longer want to wait anymore! All these waitings leave us no choice that we have to resort to the press and media. We are in need of solutions... We are just striving for our OWN RIGHTS to go back to our homes with LONG TERM SAFETY.

Will follow up on the administration of rental subsidy with our local counsel tomorrow. I had mentioned and asked specifically on this matter at least two times but no one has come back to me. We would like to know when is the date of the payment effected and what are the required documents. My understanding is payment will be made before CNY yet we have not been informed on how to go about it. All these angered the residents.

Regards,
YENHEE
